A majestic day tour from Christchurch with history of the regions and interesting snippets of information as we travel through the Canterbury plains.

Pick up and drop off in the Central Christchurch area

OR be dropped off in Tekapo to continue your journey south.  Connect with one of the larger buses heading toward Queenstown and beyond.

 

  • This area is dramatic with spectacular lakes, and views of moraines and Southern Alps.

 

  • enjoy the turquoise colours of Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki along with some geological information

  • We drive through expansive golden grassland that covers the ground until it meets moss and rock

  • The Southern Alps run down the backbone of the South Island for some 650 kms

  • This is a landscape worthy of many stunning photo opportunities.

A self-guided walk along an easy walking track to the Hooker Valley 1.5 hrs one way.  There you will get the real sense of Mount Cook/Aoraki our tallest peak at 12,218 feet or 3,724m and is our most majestic mountain in the chain of the Southern Alps.

Listen to the bird life, enjoy views from swing bridges, see glaciers whilst walking along well formed and marked tracks.

 

Sit back and enjoy our deluxe van which is fully air-conditioned and has a superb sound system so the passengers in the back of the van can hear the commentaries. The seats recline, and a DVD is available if you would like to know more about New Zealand. Sit back, relax, we stop for coffee's drinks along the way.
